“Independence Place”  Redevelopment Authority Commission, Philadelphia, PA – 1985

This installation was conceived as a hard-scape sculpture park tying into the fabric of the city and an adjacent historical park. Integrated sculpture seating, a performance stage, porte-cochere, lighting, paving and landscaping were an essential part of the original concept. The  artwork moves from the exterior site into the interior of the lobby of the building. The work accommodates pedestrian flow and minimized the effect of vehicular traffic on the site. The elements of the installation includeforms intended to provide psychological shelter, repose and meditation.
